If America is known for something, it’s apparently not being sexy (this still hurts a little bit, LOL.) The one thing we are known for in most cultures around the world is eating. Of course, I expected that. And not just for eating. For eating HUGE quantities of artery-clogging meals. As one of my German friends recently put it, we may as well have invented diabetes and heart attacks.
The good news? I can assure you that our love for eating hasn’t gone unnoticed by the rest of the world.
As a matter of fact, wherever you go around the globe, you will find restaurants trying their hardest to be genuinely American. The results? Well, most of the time, the results fall between somewhere downright mouthwatering and just plain impressive.
Less than two years ago, I was in Casino Warsaw, which, as the name suggests, is a Casino located in Warsaw, Poland. In there, I struck up a conversation with a Polish co-worker, and I was pointing out that I was finding it hard to find any American restaurants in the city.
I had come across Italian, Greek, Turkish, Irish Pubs, and Mexican restaurants, but not American. The co-worker was kind enough to direct me to three of the best American restaurants in the region, and after trying them all, I had no choice but to create this detailed guide explaining what I loved about them.
Pink Flamingo Bar & Restaurant
Straight out of the gate, I’d like to point out that Pink Flamingo Bar & Restaurant is the only American restaurant in Poland that has been maintained in the style of classic Dinners from back in the ’50s. It was also the first one that I visited after the recommendation by my Co-worker.
At the time I visited, Charles Kelemen was the Chef (I hope he still is.) After striking up a conversation with him, I quickly learned that he was not only a native Yankee, but also that, just like me, he is fascinated with American cuisine.
The moment you set your eyes on Pink Flamingos, you’ll be immediately wowed by the detached, inconspicuous building boasting a truly American character. I really appreciated the Mind-blowing attention to detail in the décor and overall mood. And that’s not all. The restaurant has been decorated with everything American, including but not limited to music from a jukebox and California Vintage Radio.
Now let’s talk a little bit about what the restaurant offers. The restaurant offers a wide array of American meals, with delicacies from all over the United States. When I visited, I enjoyed a typical burger as well as some steak and ribs.
Pink Flamingo Bar & Restaurant is highly recommended!!
Hard Rock Café
Located at the heart of Warsaw, Poland, the Hard Rock Café is one of the largest restaurants in the city, boasting close to a thousand square meters.
Focused on serving its clients a great American cuisine in an atmosphere decorated with adrenaline-pumping rock n roll, the Hard Rock Café also awards you the choice to leave with some Hard Rock merchandise as well as collectibles. Not to mention the authentic rock memorabilia from Rock’s most creative stars as well as the nation’s leading musicians.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to point out that The Hard Rock Café is part of a worldwide renowned chain currently located in 58 different nations.
So, do you love live music? If yes, then you’ll be pleased to know that at the Hard Rock Café, you’ll find regular live concerts to choose from. Or perhaps you’re in Warsaw, and you’d like to host a special event for your small or huge group of friends. In that case, the Hard Rock Café has been designed with your needs in mind as well, as it boasts a huge, modern, spacious space.
The first time we visited the restaurant (yeah, I went back again), we enjoyed American-style quality beef burgers of distinct varieties, desserts, salads, smokehouse sandwiches, and more. In the second round, we mostly indulged in the large selection of beers, coffee, tea, cocktails, and soft drinks.
TGI Fridays
TGI Fridays is another restaurant in Warsaw offering authentic American meals and delicious drinks. Here, you can find exciting delicacies, including but not limited to handmade desserts, juicy burgers, beef steaks, giant ribs, as well as dishes from the grill with the original Jack Daniel’s sauce.
Other meals I suggest that you try during your visit include chicken fingers, baby back ribs, nachos, potato skins, and Buffalo wings.
